Anil is based at Delhi, India and leads our emerging markets consulting practice. Anil works side by side with clients to transform their businesses.
Anil has served leading institutions and multinationals across a range of sectors, including financial services, insurance, publishing, retail and e-commerce. He has worked with companies in Asia, Africa, Middle East and Europe. Anil has deep experience in architecting and executing new market entry, start-up's and multi-year business transformations. His experience in strategy, digital, distribution, customer services and change management has enabled him to work with CEO's and senior management teams to deliver enhanced value for clients. Anil's recent work includes: transformation of leading insurers & financial services companies in Asia and Africa, with a focus on business growth through improved business models and distribution channels distribution transformation in agency improvement, bancassurance strategy including sales model, products & processes, and supporting clients in securing partnerships increasing efficiencies in costs and service delivery driven by IT and process improvements digital strategy and online sales Anil has significant experience in business development, identifying and successfully developing new partnerships and joint ventures, as well as in Mergers and Acquisitions. Geographic experience covers South and South East Asia, Western Africa, Middle East and UK. Prior to MAGI, Anil held senior management roles with Aviva Asia (India & Sri Lanka), Norwich Union Life UK, Dundee Investment Management (India).
Bert is based at Edinburgh and works closely with clients in the Insurance sector across emerging markets and Europe
Bert has worked with global insurance leaders across UK, Western & Eastern Europe, Turkey, Middle East, South Asia and South East Asia. Bert's recent work includes: transformation of agency distribution for a large insurance company in South East Asia supporting bid, valuation and partnership negotiation for a bancassurance partnership in South East Asia developing bancassurance strategy and supporting development of capabilities for successful launch of business developing strategy and implementation of market entry into family takaful life insurance developing strategy for the re-engineering of a South East Asia life insurance company and the launch of a new company Bert has significant leadership experience in the Insurance sector having led businesses as CEO & Country Manager for the Aviva Group, Legal & General and Sunlife Financial of Canada in Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Hong Kong), Middle East (UAE & Bahrain), and Europe (Turkey). Bert also served as Chairman / Member of the Board for a number of Aviva businesses in Eastern Europe, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and Italy. Bert's core focus areas are Strategy, M&A, Distribution (Agency & Bancassurance) and Marketing. Bert has experience in Life, General and Takaful Life insurance.
Karsten is based at London and leads the digital and technology practice, working with clients in UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and Middle East
Karsten works with companies across sectors, but with a strong focus on insurance and financial services in technology design and transformation. Karsten has deep experience in architecting and executing technology strategy, application and architecture design, business process design & re-engineering, to support business from new business launch through to multi-year transformations for large companies. Karsten has worked with clients in UK, Middle East, Africa and Asia. Considerable insights and experiences in Change Management and IT related to: Strategy articulation and business planning; New business start-ups; M&A; International transformation programmes; Portfolio and Project Management; Operational oversight; Risk management and Governance. Expertise in the design and implementation of core insurance systems and processes having delivered 25+ system projects in or across 20+ countries. Karsten's recent work includes Technology and Operations capability assessment, process re-engineering and guidance on technology development roadmap for launch of bancassurance channel in South East Asia Business Process re-engineering for a London Market Insurer, UK Conducting an IT health check for a Lloyd's of London Managing Agent Pan-African Change Portfolio Management for a leading international insurance group: Development of Enterprise Portfolio Management framework for selection, prioritisation and governance of local and regional projects including processes and tools for implementation and operation Optimisation of Change Delivery for a leading international insurance group: Root/Cause analysis and levers for optimisation of project and portfolio delivery; Organisational re-shaping, portfolio construction, prioritisation and governance processes; Benefits Delivery Business turn around for a UK life insurer: Business and Product Architecture; Insurance systems architecture; Financial reporting processes and systems; IT Benchmarking Prior experience as International IT and Change Director at Aviva Group, responsible for a broad range of activities from strategy articulation and business planning over major transformation programmes to operational oversight and governance.
